Hey Graduates… want to get your head in the game?! You worked so hard preparing for an interview; don’t let anything get in your way! And by that I mean don’t let the distraction of a piece of hair in your face steal the attention…
The Huffingtonpost states, “Your hair is as important as the
clothes you wear to the interview. Make sure your hair is clean and simply
styled. Cut your hair if it is excessively long or scraggly. Avoid extreme
styles or cuts that leave hair hiding your face. Make an appointment with your
hairdresser for a blow dry the day of your interview. If you color your hair,
make sure it looks natural and that your roots are not noticeable. Now is not
the time to experiment with a new hair color.”
If you’re going to wear your hair down make sure you style
it and use products to help prevent any pieces from falling into your face.
You may also try simple hairstyles such as a low ponytail or bun, guaranteeing that
there won’t be any negative distractions. However, just because you may pull
your hair away from you face, doesn’t mean you have to look frumpy!
For a fashion interview it may be appropriate to keep the hair out of your face with
simple accessories or styling the bun in a unique way. For the guys they should
be cleanly shaven, and have hair styled using gel or light hairspray.
The “just rolled out of bed look” doesn’t look appropriate for either women or men during an interview so get your head in the game!
