Have you ever wondered if the models all get along backstage? If they have a good relationship with the designers? Or just what life is like as a top fashion model?
There’s nothing we “like” more than models not Photoshopped, not airbrushed, and just putting their best face forward while being naturally fashion-forward. Here are just a few of my favorite fashion models worth following on Instagram and backstage shots from Fashion Week from their stand point:
Cara Delevingne is not only known for being the face of Burberry’s Beauty campaign and strutting down the Victoria Secret Runway, but she is also notorious for her silly faces on Instagram (that somehow still look chic). Her headline, “Don’t worry, be happy! Embrace your weirdness” makes you feel like; hey, this chick is actually relatable!
Cara was named Top Model Of the Year in 2012 at the British Fashion Awards and is now the face of Chanel’s Resort 2013 campaign. She walked in the Anna Sui, Derek Lam, Jason Wu, Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch, and many more runway shows during Fashion Week. Follow her Instagram for a refreshing array of ridiculousness and out of this world shots that are actually pretty down to earth!
Josephine Skriver is a natural beauty who walked in Reem Acra, Carolina Herrera, VPL, Diane Von Furstenberg, Prabal Gurung, Richard Chai, and many more shows during Fashion Week. Josephine posts photos from behind the scenes at her photo shoots, her usual iced green tea, and snap shots of her with her friends backstage.
As the face of the Blugirl Spring/Summer 2013 Campaign and Prabal Gurung for Target Spring/Summer 2013, I think this adorable girl’s journey is the start of something amazing!
Best friends to Cara and Karlie, Jourdan Dunn, is a 22 year old British model who made her mark when she was the first African American model to strut down the Prada runway in over a decade. Jourdan walked in Carolina Herrera, Marchesa, Jason Wu, and many more shows during this year’s Fashion Week. Jourdan is a single parent and recently just moved to New York.
The most exciting thing about this Fashionista?.. She recently announced plans to present a cookery show for Jay-Z’s Youtube Channel; Life & Times! Don’t get it twisted; Jourdan tells Vogue that she doesn’t want to be a chef; she is a mom first, and simply just enjoys cooking. Her first priority is her son, Riley, who sadly was born with sickle-cell anemia (a blood disorder), who inspires her and has made her even more determined to succeed today. Follow this top model, for her career is only just beginning!
Katarzyna Strusińska, otherwise known as Kasia Struss, recently shot the IRO Spring/Summer 2013 campaign and walked in the Tory Burch, Belstaff, Donna Karan, Rodarte, Victoria Beckham, Altuzarra, and Alexander Wang F/W 13 shows. With super high heels and high cheek bones, this Polish model has made her mark within the fashion industry, appearing in various ad campaigns and editorials.
Kasia is fun to follow on Instagram because she captures the little moments backstage at NYFW and isn’t afraid to show pictures that might not be Vogue material…but worth every shot!
Do I actually need to introduce this model?! …We all recognize Karlie Kloss as she stomps down the runway with those long toned legs and fierce facial features. Although she is currently ranked 2nd on “Top 50” by Models.com, she is without a doubt number one in my book.
Karlie’s Instagram is full of her friends, family and favorite activities such as baking her infamous cookies, Karlie’s Kookies. Karlie first sold the cookies at DKNY in SOHO during Fashion’s Night Out in New York City. The kindhearted model is also a model citizen; she donates all proceeds to benefiting hungry children around the world. Hmm…I bet when Karlie and her friends snap pics on their phone they shout, “kookies” instead of cheese!
