Minis by Mary!

Minis by Mary!

How many times have you purchased the perfect skirt that made you feel like a total knockout at the club?  You took over 100 pictures for hotness evidence that you’re about to post onto Facebook when suddenly your friend-enemy’s new pictures pop up on your newsfeed…That bitch is wearing your mini-skirt!!!  Although you would love to knock her out you stick to your high moral standards, no reason to be immature about this.  So naturally you call your friend and you come to the conclusion that yes, you do look way hotter in the skirt and that it is ok to post the pictures. Ugh, not the ideal fashion moment you had hoped for.

We try to hunt for one of kind pieces whether it is at the mall or online, only to settle for the next best thing. Well I don’t think we should be settling for anything less then what we deserve. Mary Carroll is one inspiring female who believes that we girls deserve something better!

There was no denying that this Business Administration Marketing graduate has always gravitated towards fashion. With the passion for fashion and the belief that style is how we express ourselves, Mary discovered her hidden talent in 2010 when she wasn’t satisfied with the miniskirts she tried on at the mall.  Instead of sitting around waiting for Forever 21 or other stores to get their next shipment in, she simply stitched together a mini skirt that showed off her personal style. Since then, she realized that she was onto something, and then began designing miniskirts for her sisters and friends. Recently, one of her minis was recently modeled in a fashion show through Piper Boutique in Saratoga. The show, “Catwalk for Kidneys” featured Saratoga’s best fashion.

“Minis by Mary” mini skirt line has a wide variety of unique miniskirts that best suits your style and personality.  “I try to target the girl who loves being comfortable but still looking fab at the same time! As I mentioned before, there’s not just one set style for my skirts since I have a wide variety of fabrics, and just as each one is different they are all fabulous in their own unique way! It’s up to you to pick out a mini that suits you best and add your own flare to it.”

When the weekend comes around do you find yourself going back and forth thinking of different fun and inexpensive things to do with your friends, only to end up staying in? If you go out to dinner and have drinks you could easily spend over $50, and quite honestly until they make The Notebook in 3D, spending $15 or more at the movie theater just doesn’t seem worth it.   I am also pretty sure it’s socially unacceptable to drink your favorite cocktails, wear mud masks, and gossip with over 15 of your girlfriends at the mall; however, Mary will bring the shopping center to you!  When you have a “Mini Party” Mary comes to your house and displays her best skirts so you and your guests can shop.  When you host a party you get a free hip hugging skirt and in addition, for every 10 skirts you sell you get one free!

Mary certainly doesn’t let her dreams hang by a thread.  She is truly a go-getter, keeping in touch with local high schools and colleges where she hangs up posters advertising her minis hoping to expand her brand and gain more exposure. “I want to gain as much exposure as possible and meet new people every day.  I view this as almost a “mini” journey that will hopefully make my dream come true  of having my own national “Mary Carroll” clothing line.  My long term goals are to grow and continue to expand by presenting fashion shows as well as opening retail stores throughout the country. There’s just so much I want to do therefore, I am trying to do something every day in the hopes of reaching my goal.”

When I asked Mary if she has any assistants within her business she commented, “Hum, I have to admit that my main support comes from my mom.  I honestly would not have been able to accomplish all I have without her.  She is definitely the backbone to everything in my life, including my Mini Skirt Business!  Fortunately for me, my mom is well aware of all the “ins and outs” regarding sewing and tailoring, therefore; she is guiding me with my sewing and designing techniques and has at even taken control when it comes time to crank out our minis for orders so that I can meet all required deadlines.”

Mary went on to say that there was also someone else lending her a hand in the business.  In addition, I  have a ‘special’ helper; my grandpa, who assists me with the production end of my business.  He continually makes himself available to put up shelves and has on occasion even made purchases of random fabric that he likes, lol!”

At this point in my life, I can’t visualize moving on in my career without having the insight and support I have available within my own family unit.  I am so thankful to my mom and family because they gave me the confidence and all the important tools to move on in life and stand on my own while building a business, and for that I am so very grateful.

I believe what we can learn from Mary is that we all have the capability to design our destiny; however, our dreams don’t require any alterations.  She stated “Always dream big and don’t ever let anyone tell you no. Once you find what you want to do in life just go for it and never look back this way you will never have any regrets.  Stay motivated and you will reach your dream if you want it bad enough.”

Get your Facebook dignity back while showing off one of Mary’s Mini’s in your profile picture. There is no better way to embrace your individuality and be a knockout on newsfeed…

  1. I seldom comment, but i did a few searching and wound up here Minis
by Mary! Pinky To Posh. And I do have a few questions
for you if it’s allright. Could it be simply me or does it look
as if like some of the responses come across
like written by brain dead folks? :-P And, if you are posting at additional online social
sites, I would like to follow anything fresh you
have to post. Could you make a list of all of
all your communal sites like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin
    profile?
