Priceless Moments in Las Vegas: MAGIC Market Week
What a thrill it was to be representing Amy Conway at ENK Las Vegas! After a successful show in New York, we were fully prepared for Vegas. A little jet lag didn’t stop us from setting up the beautiful booth. People found the authentic décor to be so interesting that they would instantly stop and ask about the collection. Once we shared Amy’s overall message and mission, people seem genuinely intrigued to learn more. Everyone raved over the new jewelry pieces we added to the collection, with the Love Conquers All Bangle and Points Of Light Earrings being our top sellers. The scarves were also a huge hit! People really loved the concept that the scarves are all based on Amy’s poetry and artwork. The Yantra Orbs Stained Glass Modal Cashmere Scarf, was our number one seller, and is my personal favorite too! Continue reading
Garden of Dreams Largest Refurbished Project To Date
About a month ago I covered the Garden of Dreams Talents Show, which was hosted by, MSG Knicks’ reporter, Jill Martin and Fuse news anchor, Matte Babel. Then, on May 9, 2013 The Garden of Dreams Foundation unveiled its largest refurbished project to date! Renovations to The Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital included new ceilings, lighting, wall protection, flooring, as well as fresh painted walls.
Hank Ratner, president and CEO, The Madison Square Garden Company and Chairman of Garden of Dreams stated, “The Garden of Dreams is the most meaningful thing we do at The Madison Square Garden Company, and it has been an honor to have the New York Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital as one of our partners for the past three years. Our goal with Garden of Dreams is to bring the magic of Madison Square Garden to the children who need it most and we are grateful for this opportunity to support the Hospital’s amazing work by creating an uplifting space that will both inspire and comfort the thousands of extraordinary children who visit the Center each year.”
Kevin Hammeran, senior vice president and chief operating officer of New York-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital added, “This gift for the Children’s Diagnostic Radiology Center has made possible the enhancement of a physical space in a lively way that promotes healing and comfort. We are grateful to the Garden of Dreams for this wonderful gift, and for its ongoing activities to bring joy to our pediatric patients and their families.”
The newly remodeled space now offers a more comfortable and family-friendly atmosphere for the 11,500 children who visit the hospital each year from sports-related injuries to life threatening diseases. Here are a few shots and video clips inside the ribbon cutting at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital!

Life’s Best Moments Are Unedited
While on the set of the La Fiorentina Fall 2013 photo shoot, I began to realize that our own lives can mimic what was going on right in front of me. It hit me that organizing, preparing and focusing on a specific goal are as essential in real life as they were for planning the perfect picture.
Reaching goals and becoming successful don’t just happen because we want them to; it requires a lot of hard work. I witnessed that first hand when I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to capture some unpredictable moments behind the scenes in these photos at the La Fiorentina shoot; they are priceless and those candid moments are what set them apart from all others!
Although nothing beats that perfectly planned portrait, it’s what goes on behind the scenes that truly make it all come together and create that lasting image.
Sometimes our own vision of life may become blurry and unfocused, especially when what we originally pictured has developed into something much different. Those are the times when we are our most authentic selves and should be open to new possibilities. When you realize those opportunities are gone in a flash, you should utilize them to create your own film. You never know…your life may just turn out better than you ever could have imagined. It’s time to get out of the dark room, and enjoy the shooting process…because life’s best moments are unedited!

Dare to Dream, Featuring Model Dominique Piek
In light of all that has happened in Boston, I wanted to share something we all need right now… positivity, love and hope.
On Tuesday, April 16th, I covered the Garden of Dreams Talent Show, “Dare to Dream”, which was hosted by, MSG Knicks’ reporter, Jill Martin and Fuse news anchor, Matte Babel. It was obvious to everyone there that this was difficult but necessary. We can’t let “them” win…There was so much triumph during the show, proving that during these tragic times, we, as Americans, only become closer and more resilient.
Founded in 2006, The Garden of Dreams Talent Show truly helps to make dreams come true for children who are facing extreme difficulties such as homelessness, poverty, illness, and foster care.
Garden of Dreams has created thousands of once-in-a-lifetime moments that have brought excitement and joy to more than 225,000 children and their families, with almost 500 events in the past year alone. These children have the chance of a lifetime to perform on the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall to celebrate their unique voices and talents in front of their friends, family, with support from celebrity mentors.
Some of the celebrity mentors at this year’s show were Victor Cruz, Rapper Waka Flocka Flame, The Strokes, and Models Doutzen Kroes, Dominique Piek, Jarah Mariano, Genevieve Morton and Damaris Lewis just to name a few.
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model, Dominique Piek, was one of the supporters who stood out. No, it wasn’t because of her good looks, amazing physique, or the 6 extra inches she had over me… rather it was her sincerely sweet spirit and enthusiasm to support these talented children.
What was it about this foundation that made you want to be involved?
“My younger brother actually had cancer when he was about thirteen so my heart naturally always goes out to children who suffer from some sort of obstacle or difficulty.”
How have you been showing your support to these children?
“Just giving them motivational support after they have been practicing for about two months now, there were no questions asked; I had to be here to cheer them on. I will definitely be tweeting and instagramming pictures and spreading the word about the event throughout the night.”
What talent would you show off on stage if you were a given this opportunity?
“My friends will tease me because I am a huge Rihanna and Beyonce fan, and would probably love to break it down and have a little Beyonce moment. I don’t think I have quite that great of a singing voice, but my dream has always been to win a Grammy. I know it’ll never happen, but it is always a dream of mine!”
Many models today have helped young women make it into the modeling biz on reality television competition shows. Would you ever consider being a judge or hosting one of these shows?
“I thought about presenting before, it’s definitely a possibility, I enjoy talking (as you can tell) and supporting other women so you never know!”
Is your boyfriend, Chris Pine here supporting you and these children as well?
“No, actually Chris and I are no longer together. This decision happened pretty recently; but I wish him nothing but the best and we still remain good friends.”
What can we expect to see from you in the future?
“I have a few European clients that I am working with right now, as well as other exciting things that I am not allowed to talk about just yet; but you will definitely be seeing more from me in the near future.”
This South African beauty may have made her splash as a swimsuit model, but proved to be just as talented of a mentor. Although she is now single, I bet there are plenty of fish in the sea swooning over this swimsuit stunner’s warm spirit. Dominique Piek’s positivity is the model behavior we can all carry out while staying strong during these tough times.
